Kumpanya Festival 2

We’re kicking off the new season together!

When we organised the first Kumpanya Festival last year, to be honest, we weren’t quite sure how it would go. Throughout the day we ran workshops; in the evening we watched performances, listened to music and sang songs. The workshops were so packed that in some of them there was barely any room to sit down, let alone get in. :)

So we decided to do it again this year.

On 12 September, we’re getting together again at Toekomstmuziek for ‘Kumpanya’ Festival 2.

This year we’ll be kicking off with workshops again, followed by the festival. Acting, creative drama, stand-up, clowning, crochet, painting; in the evening, a stand-up show, improv and live music…

Actually, the whole point of the day is quite simple: let’s get together before the new season starts, have a game, get to know each other and have a lovely evening.

Adults play games too. ❤️

Workshops | 17:30–19:15

This year we have six different workshops. You can choose the workshop that interests you and spend a few hours immersing yourself in the world of theatre, the stage or creative production.

You don’t need any previous experience. It’s all about being a bit curious, giving it a go and playing together.

Acting — Sadettin Yalta ❤️

A workshop for those curious about acting or wishing to deepen their connection with the stage.

Through work on the body, voice, improvisation and stage work, we perform together, experiment and discover new things on stage.

Raising Awareness of Boundaries Through Creative Drama — Merve Ergin Karakoç ❤️

Physical, mental, social, ethical…

In this workshop, we use creative drama to sense, question and explore our boundaries together.

A bit of play, a bit of awareness, and a bit of looking at ourselves and one another from a different perspective.

Stand-Up — Eren Uslu ❤️

Together, we’re exploring the techniques of writing jokes, performing on stage and making the audience laugh.

Whether you say, “I’ve got no experience at all” or “I’ve got a bit of experience”, you’re welcome to come along. Together, we’ll look at how an idea turns into a joke and how it’s presented on stage.

Clown — Deniz Akın ❤️

A workshop for those who are curious about the world of clowning and would like to experience it for themselves.

Through the body, play and comedy, we are introduced to the clown; there’s a bit of nonsense, a bit of fumbling, and amidst it all, we find play.

Crochet Therapy Workshop — Merve İlgün ❤️

A fun workshop for anyone curious about crochet and keen to give it a go.

Together, we knit little bags, have a chat, slow down a little whilst we’re crafting, and sit side by side amidst the hustle and bustle of the day.

What’s more, at the end of the workshop, you get to take home the little bag you’ve made yourself.

We are exploring acrylic paint, colour mixing and compositional techniques together.

You’ll create your own landscape painting and, at the end of the workshop, take the painting you’ve made with your own hands home with you.

Last year, our workshops were really very crowded; we couldn’t make room for friends who wanted to join some of them at a later stage.

So, if there’s a workshop you’ve got your eye on this year, we’d advise you not to leave buying your ticket until the very last minute. :)

19:30 — Doors open

The workshops are coming to an end, and the doors are opening for the festivities. Let’s have a drink, get to know each other and kick off the evening together.
